Marc H. Morial

President and CEO, National Urban League

Marc H. Morial is President and CEO of the National Urban League, the nation's largest historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization, a role he has served since 2003. Mr. Morial has been the primary catalyst for an era of change and transformation for the 105-year old civil rights organization.

Mr. Morial has served as mayor of New Orleans, and as a Louisiana state senator. He was appointed by President Obama to Chair the Census Advisory Committee, and sat on the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability, and the Department of Education’s Equity and Excellence Commission. He was also appointed to the Twenty-First Century Workforce Commission by President Bill Clinton.

Mr. Morial has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential Black Americans by Ebony Magazine, one of the Top 50 Nonprofit Executives by the Nonprofit Times, and one of the Top 100 Black Lawyers in America.

He received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in economics and African American Studies, and holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and several honorary degrees.
