L.A.’s Finest, the highly anticipated series marking the launch of Charter Communications’ premium content initiative Spectrum Originals, and produced by Sony Pictures Television, made its premiere on Spectrum’s On Demand platform this week. The action-packed, female-driven drama starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba, is available exclusively to Spectrum video subscribers.
“We see original content as a way to further differentiate the Spectrum customer experience,” said, Katherine Pope, Senior Vice President, Head of Original Content. “I was brought on board early last year to develop, oversee and launch our new premium content initiative, Spectrum Originals, and my goal has been to find shows that will appeal to different segments of our subscriber base and increase the value of their video subscription.”
The one-hour series follows Syd Burnett (Union), last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, who has seemingly left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. Paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mom with an equally complex history, Syd is forced to confront how her unapologetic lifestyle may be masking a greater personal secret. Taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles while skirting the rules, and speed limits, Syd and Nancy become a force to be reckoned with – on the streets, and in each other’s lives.
“L.A.’s Finest features a great cast, including dynamic and strong female leads with Gabrielle and Jessica; a top-notch and very diverse production team; and a compelling storyline that can’t be found on television right now,” said Pope.
New episodes of the 13-episode series will release every Monday until the season finale. The first three episodes of L.A.’s Finest are currently available On Demand exclusively for Spectrum video subscribers. Spectrum video customers can find L.A.’s Finest via Spectrum Originals On Demand. More information on Spectrum Originals and L.A.’s Finest can be found at www.spectrumoriginals.com/lasfinest.
